We are currently working with a globally renowned civil infrastructure contractor who are in the early stages of delivering of delivering a £200.M power supply tunnel project in the Snowdonia National Park near Porthmadog. The scheme is currently 18 months into a seven-year programme, constructing two shafts and 3.4 kilometres tunnel to carry electricity under the Dwyryd Estuary.
The client currently has a requirement for a Health & Safety Advisor to join this technically challenging scheme.
The position reports directly to the Health & Safety Manager and sees the incumbent responsible the duties detailed below: .
• To monitor and provide HS&E input, from design through to implementation.
• To support the broader HS&E agenda as required and ensuring governance, compliance and legal obligations are met.
• Undertake planned project inspections / tours as per Frequency Risk Matrix
• Deliver pre-work site inspections to evaluate and address potential risks at planning stages
• Review, track and trend unplanned events and support project / site management in their completion of investigations
• Prepare written reports following all site visits, inspections, audits, and investigations
• Review and update Project documentation
• Ensure compliance, testing the effectiveness of its various components in controlling risk and delivering continuous improvement.
• Monitor specific environmental aspects and work in conjunction with the HS&E Manager to develop the environmental procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 14001 certification
