We are recruiting for a Metrology Engineer (Quality) to join an established Manufacturing business based in the Dudley area. The Metrology Engineer will be working in a fast paced role working closely with the technical and Quality teams working to ensure capability in tooling/equipment and manufacturing processes also assisting with product audits and product improvement.
As the Metrology Engineer (Quality) you will be required too :
• Ensure that all castings are inspected according to company procedure and customer requirements
• Develop measurement programmes for all parts (Analysing and reporting)
• Operate CAD software
• Read Engineering drawings
• Carry out Gauge checks – use measuring equipment (gauges, jigs)
• Ensure that the finished product meets contractual requirements
• Collect and perform statistical analysis on metrology data to correlate performance metrics
• Approving or rejecting raw and machined castings to check quality standards and record performance
Requirements:
• Experience using metrology equipment (3D scanning and 3D software)
• Experience with production processes, manufacture of iron castings would be an advantage but not essential
• Able to read engineering drawings
• Able to interpret and extract details from drawings
• Methodical and analytical
• Attention to detail
• Able to work in a fast paced environment
