Role- Lead Mechanical Engineer
Salary- £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Type- Permanent
Location- Poole (Hybrid / Remote working is available)
My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Instrumentation sector. They are looking for a Senior/Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Poole on a permanent basis.
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
5 or more years of industry experience working in similar Mechanical or Design role
Ideally have some experience in a process industry, Fluid, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Aerospace or similar
Knowledge of rotating equipment, SPM, valves, pumps, actuators, pneumatics, gauges, piping etc
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and instrumentation
Excellent proficiency with CAD software – SolidWorks or similar
Strong R&D, FEA and CFD skills
Proven ability to drive Engineering development
Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
The ability to understand system requirements
Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Able to travel nationally and internationally on occasion
The Lead Mechanical Engineer role will involve:
Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
Working within the R&D multi-disciplinary team
Leading client projects to convert ideas into designs
Working on new product concepts
Perform development activities and find new mechanical solutions
Being involved in the product design and development process using CAD
Working with high precision instrumentation products
Modelling, analysis and the development of mechanisms
Involved in building and developing prototypes
Conducting design reviews
Producing the relevant documentation that is required
Driving continuous improvement
