We are working with our client who are an established manufacturing company in Sunderland in their search for Welding Engineer. This role would be idea for someone with a background in materials and fabrication.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure adherence to quality standards in the welding process.
• Oversee and participate in inspections at various production stages.
• Identify and address non-conformities in welding procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support inspection and auditing processes.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of welding processes and procedures.
• Assist in innovation, process development, and the implementation of standard operating procedures.
• Monitor and enhance welder performance, ensuring compliance with sequences and standard operating procedures.
• Control and mitigate distortion in welding processes.
• Interpret engineering drawings and international specifications.
• Inspect materials, welds, dimensions, and painting processes for quality assurance.
• Stay updated on industry standards and technological advancements in welding.
• Provide training and development support to enhance the skills of the welding team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.
• Collaborate with suppliers and conduct inspections at supplier premises.
• Apply knowledge of welding management systems, such as ISO9001 and ISO3834.
• Familiarity with relevant materials used in welding
• Address quality-related issues in a methodical and logical manner.
• Communicate information clearly at all levels within the organization.
The Person:
• Knowledge of quality and welding management systems ISO9001 and ISO3834.
• Competence in welder monitoring, weld sequences/SOP, and distortion control.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and international specifications.
