Young Person's Resilience Worker (16- 25)

Overview:

We are excited to advertise the role of 16-25 Resilience Worker. We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual with an understanding of multi-agency working and effective partnership approaches with a strong focus on improving outcomes for people to support the ongoing development of pathways for 16–25-year-olds.

You’ll be joining an integrated service who support both adults, young people who use substances and children affected by parental substance use.

Working with young adults aged 16 to 25. You will lead on the delivery of high-quality provision across this distinct and diverse age rage with a focus on access, engagement, and support via a range of 1:1 and group interventions, inclusive of assessment & care planning, working holistically, the role seeks to empower those aged 16-25 to develop resilience and alternative coping strategies.

The role will have a varied and challenging workload. You’ll be an integral part of multi-disciplinary team within Stockton Recovery Service to deliver evidence based and quality care. You’ll also lead on developing strong relationships with some of our key community-based partners to further provide a collaborative response to the emerging and dynamic needs of young adults and young people.

The successful applicant will therefore possess excellent engagement skills and possess the ability to work in partnership with other services and share their knowledge through the delivery of training around substance misuse to other professionals.

We are looking for a creative and dynamic individual who enjoys working within a busy team. The role is outreach based, so being able to work independently, travel around the local area and work to a high degree of accuracy to meet deadlines amongst competing priorities is essential in this position.

Successful applicants will have likely had some experience working within areas such as substance use, youth work, youth or criminal justice, children and family services, mental health, emotional well-being, or other targeted and therapeutic services with a focus on young adults and or children and young people.

Responsibilities:

About The Role:

 •  Engaging young adults in a pragmatic & meaningful way, which empowers them to access ongoing support.
 •  Work holistically to assess need & develop a collaborative package of support for young adults, including brief, harm reduction, 1:1, group, and clinical interventions
 •  Carry out comprehensive service user assessments and develop individual care plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing substance use and related outcomes.
 •  Work closely with your service’s Safeguarding Lead, to ensure all issues and concerns are escalated and dealt with quickly and effectively.
 •  Carry out risk assessments and risk management plans.
 •  Being responsive to the needs of young adults, ensuring interventions are accessible (e.g. facilitating home visits, working with colleges, universities, etc).

About You:

 •  Experience of working with young people and/or young adults
 •  Knowledge of issues facing young people and young adults today.
 •  Knowledge of safeguarding concerns in relation to children, young people, and adults.
 •  Understanding of drug and alcohol issues.
 •  Experience of forging strong working relationships with internal and external partners
 •  Access to a car and full driving license.
 •  Knowledge & experience of working with young people/young adults who use substances.
 •  Experience of delivering training to different audiences in a variety of settings.
