Support Worker Personal Assistant

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and committed individuals to join our team in Slough as Support Worker Personal Assistants. As a Support Worker Personal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting and empowering young adults during this significant period of their lives.
This role does not involve personal care but focuses on providing support and guidance as they navigate their journey. Your main responsibilities will be fostering social skills, building meaningful relationships, and supporting their integration into the community.
Stable availability is required to ensure consistent pairing with our clients. Full training will be provided, and previous experience in a care setting is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities
 •  Support individuals to live the life they want within their community, building positive relationships and helping them reach their potential.
 •  Provide social and emotional support, both at home and in the local community
 •  Assist service users with personal care, including personal hygiene needs if required.
 •  Support with shopping and budgeting activities
 •  Build and maintain relationships with friends and family members.
 •  Perform household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
 •  Accompany individuals on outings, walks, meals, and other activities they wish to experience.
 •  Actively support person-centred planning with each individual, tailoring support plans to meet their needs and wishes.
 •  Provide support in line with support plans and service aims, including personal/intimate care, daily living assistance, financial management, relationship maintenance, social/community involvement, and education/employment support.
 •  Assist individuals in managing their health needs, such as medication administration, appointment attendance, and dietary support. Monitor, record, and report changing needs as appropriate.
 •  Encourage and empower independence by promoting participation in daily activities, skill development, and self-sufficiency.
 •  Understand each person's communication needs and styles to facilitate effective communication and enable them to express their wishes and choices.
 •  Actively participate in the spiritual and cultural needs of the individuals, respecting their beliefs, wishes, and customs.
 •  Ensure that all support provided preserves and respects the dignity and privacy of the individual.
 •  Undertake key working responsibilities for designated individuals or participate in the key working process if required.
 •  Safeguard individuals from harm, abuse, and unnecessary risk.
 •  Handle equipment and personal belongings of the individuals with care and according to organisational policies.
 •  Adhere to organisational policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines in relation to health and social care standards and local contractual arrangements.
 •  Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and undertake risk assessments as required.
 •  Maintain accurate records in line with confidentiality, data protection policies, legal requirements, and service level arrangements.
 •  Report any significant issues, notifiable events, or concerns through appropriate channels as per the relevant policies and procedures.
 •  Accurately record all financial transactions in line with organisational policies and procedures.
 •  Travel to allocated locations and, if required, drive service vehicles, completing relevant checks and records related to travel.
 •  Undertake lone working, night sleep-in duties, and on-call arrangements as specified in the service requirements.

Requirements

Empathy, caring nature, and sensitivity to the needs of others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in supporting adults in a care setting or in the community.
Computer literacy.
Car driver (desirable but not essential).
