Internal Sales Engineer

£25K plus Commission – OTE Year 1 £35k

Role Overview:

We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Internal Sales Engineers to join our team. As an Internal Sales Engineer, you will provide excellent customer-focused support and play a collaborative role in promoting and selling our world-class computing-based solutions.
Working within a medium-sized sales team, you will have exposure to various sales techniques and the opportunity to deliver first-class solutions to meet customer needs. Confidence, exceptional customer service, and the ability to identify business opportunities are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development:

Undertake market research to identify target prospects for business generation campaigns within defined vertical sectors or target product groups.

Take ownership of an agreed sales target and proactively work towards achieving and exceeding it.

Make proactive calls to create a pipeline of interested prospects.

Conduct day-to-day business development and account management activities.

Maintain accurate records of marketing and engagement information in a central CRM system.

Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with managed accounts.

Proactively research and develop knowledge of customer business intelligence and requirements.

Contribute to the achievement of both individual and team sales targets.

Customer Support and Service:

Provide excellent customer service and support throughout the sales process.

Accept and process incoming inquiries, formulate solutions, quotations, and responses within customer-defined time scales, with timely follow-up to achieve positive outcomes.

Accurately and promptly enter customer orders, inquiries, quotations, and contact information into the computer system.

Manage customer complaints and objections in collaboration with service and support teams.

Reporting and Communication:

Provide monthly reporting and forecasting of sales opportunities.

Record and communicate new product suggestions and indicators of product decline to ensure an up-to-date product range.

Maintain up-to-date product, technical, and market knowledge.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

Build strong working relationships with colleagues and departments, actively participating as part of the team.

Support the improvement of process effectiveness and efficiency by adhering to Lean principles.

Ensure adherence to ISO9001 procedures.

Requirements for Effective Performance:

Proven sales track record.

Good organizational and communication skills.

Technical qualification or previous experience in a relevant subject or market.

Experience in a sales environment with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.

Strong interest in technology, specifically computer hardware.

Passion for growing a sales career.

Ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes, including CRM packages and sales processes.

Competence in using current office automation packages (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel).

Fluent in English (verbal and written).

Highly proactive and committed individual who thrives on challenges.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Self-motivated and able to multitask, handling multiple priorities.

Professional appearance and behavior with high levels of integrity and honesty.

Ability to handle pressure to meet deadlines.

Remuneration and Benefits:

Basic Salary: £25,000 per annum

Commission:

Uncapped and team-based, with 50% payable against invoice target and 50% payable against individual agreed targets.

Holiday: 25 days plus 8 public holidays, rising by an additional day to a maximum of 30 days after completion of 2 years of service.
Pension: Non-contributory pension scheme with a 3% employer contribution (increased to 5%).
Death in Service Insurance: Coverage of 3 times the basic salary, attached to the pension scheme.

Dentistry Benefit: £75 per year upon submission of dental bills
