Position Overview:
As a Pharmacy Assistant/Dispenser, you will play a pivotal role in providing exemplary customer service while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medication dispensing. Your friendly demeanour, attention to detail and ability to thrive and communicate in a fast-paced environment will be essential in supporting our team and enhancing patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a warm and professional service to our customers, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Adhere to till processes, including the sale of over-the-counter medication and pharmacy merchandise, while accurately collecting charges.
- Execute the sale of medications protocol, utilising the WWHAM questioning technique to provide comprehensive advice to patients regarding medication usage, health, and lifestyle matters.
- Receive and distribute prescriptions under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain and update patient medication records in strict accordance with data protection principles to safeguard patient confidentiality.
- Perform labelling, dispensing, and endorsement of prescriptions following established standard operating procedures to guarantee the safe supply of medication to patients in an efficient and precise manner.
- Ensure the safe storage and proper handling of medications in adherence to industry guidelines.
- Manage medication inventory by ordering sufficient stock as per company procedures, conducting date and usage checks to optimise availability and minimise wastage.
- Assist in the preparation of monitored dosage systems as required, particularly benefiting patients with complex medication regimens.
- Scrutinise endorsements and patient declarations on prescriptions, accurately filing them to facilitate maximum payments and minimise losses.
- Process invoices and paperwork promptly and accurately, adhering to company protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the dispensary and back shop areas through diligent housekeeping duties.
- Collaborate effectively within the team, demonstrating a proactive attitude towards achieving overall business objectives.
- Participate in the delivery of additional services such as stop smoking advice and blood pressure testing, utilising acquired training to enhance patient care.
Essential: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services, obtained in the UK.

- Authorisation to work in the United Kingdom.
Hours of Work: Full Time - 40 hours/week
Monday to Friday 9am-6pmSalary & Benefits: £12 per hour - NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services is ESSENTIAL!

If you are interested in further developing your professional career, we can support you towards achieving both competency and knowledge based NVQ Level 3 (QCF) Pharmacy Services qualification to become eligible to register with the GPh C as a Pharmacy Technician.
