As an RCCW, you will work with young people who are in care, care leavers and Children in Need from the age of 16 through to the age of 18. The role works in a multi-disciplinary team and provides support for young people in developing their skills to independence.

Key Responsibilities:
- To develop, monitor and review individual risk assessments, homes support plans, care plans and ensure that all actions resulting from them are followed.
- To assist young people in dealing with behavioural, emotional, or other difficulties in line with Policy, Procedure, Supported Accommodation Standards & Regulations.
- Knowledge of safeguarding in a children and young people’s context
- To participate in the professional life of the home and to work as a member of the residential staff team.
- To support young people to develop skills and confidence moving on to independent living.
Key Requirements:
- Experience of delivering life skills and/ or participation programmes to young people in a youth work, social care, or health setting.
- At least 1 years’ experience working with children and young people.
- Vocational qualification health and social care etc at NVQ level 3 or above is essential requirement for this post.
As part of the control, and guidance to young people resident within the home that is consistent with the Homes Statement of Purpose, Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, The Leaving Care Act 2000 and Oldham Council Policies and Procedures.
