The ward team routinely manages complex conditions, including polytrauma, severe brain and spinal cord injury, complex pain and respiratory conditions including tracheostomy.

The unit has developed expertise in tracheostomy weaning programmes as well as comprehensive assessments and management of Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness (PDoC).
