Job Description

The position of Pallet Network operations Manager involves:

  • Oversee the resourcing, organising and managing the transport activities, to meet demands network fluctuations.
  • responsibility for all operational and legal compliance.
  • Leading and motivating a team of circa 25, including drivers, planners and office staff.
  • Responsibility for circa 20 vehicles operating day and night.
  • Perform regular meetings with Site Supervisors to ensure all areas of vehicle & driver legal compliance, Health and Safety and transport planning are monitored, reviewed and any actions required are in place.
  • Managing and being the key point of contact for all customers, developing and growing the business. Ensuring all opportunities to grow the future of the business are taken.
  • Set objectives and measure relevant financial and operational KPI's to Director.
  • Ensure Budget constraints are met and assist in production of future Budgets.
  • Identifying peaks and troughs within the Business Area and identify areas of improvement.
  • Identifying any areas that are underperforming and put in place strategy plans for improvement.
  • Monitoring and auditing Health and Safety and compliance.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Pallet Network Operations Manager should have:

  • Ideally but not essential hold international or national CPC qualification and previous Transport Management experience.
  • Previous experience within Pallet Network or Parcel Deliveries would be desirable.
  • Have a good understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours and WTD's.
  • Track record of leading successful change.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management.
  • Strong evidence of management skills and making key business decisions.
  • Capability to advise and motivate team to deliver results for the business.
  • Ability to present to Senior Key contacts within the business and to external customers.
  • Must be able to be flexible in the role due to operating hours and customer demands.
  • Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • IT literate including MS Office. Strong analytic ability in review data and reports.
