Finance Officer
Opportunity for an experienced Finance Officer to join a not-for-profit organisation on a short term assignment during a busy period.
I’m supporting a respected not-for-profit organisation in London that is urgently seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join them on a short-term basis. This is a hands-on role providing critical support during a particularly busy period — and we're looking for someone who can start immediately.
The role will focus on core transactional finance duties, including sales ledger, purchase ledger, credit control, and staff expenses. Experience with Access Financials is highly desirable, and a background in the not-for-profit or charity sector would be a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Raise and issue sales invoices, monitor incoming payments, and manage credit control
- Process purchase invoices, ensuring correct coding and approvals
- Maintain accurate supplier and customer records
- Reconcile accounts and assist with expense processing
- Support the team with audit prep and general finance admin as needed
Candidate Profile:
- Immediately available and able to hit the ground running
- Previous experience in a finance support role, ideally within a charity or not-for-profit environment
- Confident managing sales/purchase ledger, credit control, and staff expenses
- Familiarity with Access Financials is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and good working knowledge of Excel
- Flexible, reliable, and a strong team player
