Acting up opportunity - Service Manager in EMRS (Band 6)

The Emergency, Medicine, and Rehabilitation (EMRS) Division have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated individual to support the operational management team.

This role provides general operational management and business support to several medical services, as well as providing direct operational management of respective teams. The post holder will be fully involved in planning and achieving the divisions overall objectives and will work as a member of the divisional management team.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work closely with senior clinicians, effectively manage performance against a range of standards and generate clear strategic plans for their services.

This is an exciting role for an aspiring manager within an organisation that has a reputation for developing and promoting talented individuals.

The role of Assistant Service Manager is a practical one and the post holder will work as part of the management team responsible for the division.
  • The post holder will report to one of the Service Managers within EMRS.
  • They will work closely with the divisional management team in the operational management of its clinical services.
  • They will have a role in operational management and also in the management of staff.
  • The division aims to provide high quality clinical care across all its services.
  • The Assistant Service Manager will lead on the review and reporting of outpatient waiting times within the division.
  • They will provide effective leadership to the administrative team, supporting them to ensure the service meets performance and access targets.
