Band 6 District Nurse Deputy Team Manager

Spark Green Team based at Sparkbrook Community Health Centre

Essential Qualification of DN SPQ: applicants will not be shortlisted if the application does not demonstrate District Nursing qualification

The post holder will be expected to work multi professionally, support other team member’s roles and contribute to the future development of the service.

As a senior nurse you will be able to demonstrate good leadership skills, the ability to manage change in clinical practice and processes. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to independently make sound clinical and leadership judgement and regularly supervise the workload of junior colleagues.

We are looking for people who are innovative, forward thinking, flexible and have strong leadership qualities.

Main duties of the job
  • Ability to demonstrate sound knowledge and application of up to date evidence based clinical practice.
  • Excellent communication Analytical skills and a problem solving approach IT literate
  • Awareness of the complex needs of a multicultural, socially diverse population.
  • Leadership and interpersonal qualities.

We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated nurses to join our teams; we provide integrated care to patients throughout Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust so the ideal candidate must be highly mobile and are able to travel throughout the City’s Boundaries.

The ideal candidates must be a good communicator, team player and have sound clinical knowledge being able to work independently and as part of a team.

Person specification

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse Level 1 (Adult)
  • Nurse Prescriber v150 or v300 or willing to undertake Module within 12 months of employment.
  • Mentor and assessor qualification or equivalent
  • Evidence of continued professional development relevant to role
  • District Nurse Specialist Practitioner Qualification, or willing to work towards equivalent modules
  • Post Grad Degree or Evidence of relevant Degree level study (have gained if prescribing complete)
Desirable criteria
  • Competent user of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Patient Administration Systems.
  • Effective Team Member/ MDT working

Other

  • Clinical experience pertinent to role
  • Management of complex patients
  • Awareness of providing multi cultural diverse care
  • Car driver with access to car for work
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership skills- staff management

In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.

  • link, will not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.

All non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands 7 - 9) that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship.

DBS Costs

Please be aware that all new employees starting work with the Trust will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary in 3 payments over a 3-month period once you start employment.
By applying for this role, you are agreeing to these deductions being made. The charges for the DBS include the administration fee. The total costs are £26.40 for a standard check and £54.40 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.
For bank Workers the full cost of the DBS check (as detailed above) will be deducted from your pay following completion of your online mandatory training. No payment will be made for your online training until it is all complete and verified by the Temporary Staffing Team.

Please note: You will not be able to work any bank shifts until you have completed your mandatory training, and your DBS is in place.
