About the Role:
As an English Teacher with Teaching Personnel, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work across a range of schools in Northamptonshire, teaching English at Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience. Whether you’re an experienced teacher or newly qualified, you’ll play a key role in fostering literacy, encouraging analytical thinking, and building students’ confidence in reading, writing, and communication.This role offers flexible working arrangements, allowing you to choose short-term cover, long-term placements, or even potential permanent roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and Inspire: Teach engaging and inspiring English lessons that spark curiosity and a love for literature, poetry, drama, and language.
- Differentiated Instruction: Adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of all learners, supporting those who require additional help and challenging high-achievers.
- Promote Critical Thinking: Encourage students to think critically, discuss ideas, and express their thoughts confidently in both written and verbal form.
- Classroom Management: Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment that is conducive to learning and personal growth.
- Assess and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and develop strategies to support each student’s academic journey.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other English teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices to continually improve teaching quality.

Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification with a specialization in English
- Experience Teaching English at the secondary level (KS3 and KS4 required, KS5 desirable but not essential)
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Adaptability and Flexibility: Eagerness to work in various school environments and adapt teaching styles as needed
