We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious Senior Pharmacy Assistants to join our dynamic team working flexible bank shifts. Shifts are available Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:30 and 19:00.
The role of a Medicines Management Assistant (Band 3) is an exciting an innovative role.
The successful candidate will work within the dispensary and the ward based teams providing the face of pharmacy.
You will work with the pharmacist and pharmacy technician teams providing a seamless service to the the wards and dispensary.
Main duties of the job
The Medicines Management Assistant will work in a supporting role to both ward and dispensary. Working closely with the pharmacist, and medicines management technician you will be expected to ensure patients medicines, and ward stock are available in a timely manner.The successful candidate will take part in a dispensing rota and manage the timely supply of urgent medicines. General audits will need to be carried out to improve service.
We are a patient focused team and you will need to have an empathetic manner.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- 5 GCSEs (including English, Maths, Science A-C)
- Appropriate NVQ2 units in Pharmacy services
- Appropriate level 2/3 healthcare assistant qualification
Knowledge /experience/skill
Essential criteria- Demonstrate the ability to work to procedure
- Demonstrates a desire to learn new skills
- Able to offer advice on the safe storage of drugs
- Demonstrate the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Worked in a hospital pharmacy
- Ability to work in the clinical environmen

If you need to have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, as a requirement of the role, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check (£49.50) and this amount will be reclaimed from your first salary. From 1st February 2019 all new starters to the Trust are required to join the DBS update service as per Trust DBS Re-checking Policy which has an annual cost of £16.New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £49.50 for a new DBS check in 3 years time.
Please note that news starters with KGH are subject to a six month probationary period.
