Second in Faculty: Mathematics TLR 2a

Permanent, Full Time

Required for Autumn Term 2025, an experienced and effective Mathematics teacher ready to take on the role of the second in charge and help lead our excellent Mathematics Faculty. You will have the ability and desire to make the learning of maths vibrant, accessible and enjoyable, as well as helping students across the age and ability range to achieve great grades.

Woodbrook Vale School is a popular and highly successful 11-16 single academy trust located within the university town of Loughborough. The school is an Ofsted-rated “good” school (Feb 2022) and has a track record of excellent GCSE results in all subjects but especially maths.

The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to build upon the school’s success at a time when we are broadening our approaches to include wider networking opportunities such as Challenge Partners and the Midlands Maths Hub. Students participate in a wide range of extra-curricular maths-based clubs, trips and activities and the faculty has a strong team spirit.

We are committed to giving every student the drive to ‘aspire, enjoy, and succeed’. Our approach to teaching and learning is informed by work on growth mindset and knowledge-based approaches. We are a school of character, placing great importance upon educating young people to be driven by a set of moral virtues that they can learn, develop and hone throughout their time at the school.

We have excellent facilities and have invested heavily in our buildings and infrastructure over recent years to create a highly attractive school site. We hold the Silver Investors in People Award and are known for our work to promote staff well-being and job satisfaction.

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. This position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
