Corporate Responsibilities Build safe working knowledge of all equipment used to provide safe patient care and participate in maintenance and training Supporting Clinical and Patient Excellence To work within the stroke therapy team to provide excellent Occupational Therapy care, applying specialised skills and knowledge.
To increase and expand knowledge base and experience, clinically and non-clinically To undertake a comprehensive neurological assessment including cognitive assessments of patients using advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to provide an appropriate clinical treatment plan.
Contribute to the formulation and delivery of a holistic rehabilitation programme based on sound knowledge of evidence-based practise and treatment options working alongside other professions. To represent the therapy service and/or individual patients at multidisciplinary team meetings.
This will include discussion of patient care, progress and involvement in discharge planning. To provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching and instruction to colleagues, relatives and carers when appropriate to promote understanding of the aims of Therapy Ensure compliance with the Trusts health and safety, infection prevention, risk management and any other relevant policies and procedures and to establish and maintain safe systems of work within the work area.
Submit accurate timesheets within set department timescales for additional hours worked. To demonstrate a very high standard of verbal and non-verbal communication to exchange, often sensitive, and accurate information in a variety of settings and with varied individuals and to provide comprehensive reports both verbal and written to the relevant referring agency and MDT members.

To utilise all training and development opportunities and prepare for supervision and appraisals appropriately in order to develop knowledge, skills and awareness within the clinical area, service and trust. Advanced skills and knowledge of equipment provision Advanced skills in planning and carrying out access/home visits.
