We are looking for a Risk Analyst Apprentice to join the UK Risk Team. The successful candidate will have responsibility for supporting the delivery of company-wide risk analysis and mitigation programmes. We will provide on the job training and self-development opportunities.
This role will report to the Risk Manager and will be a key member of the UK Risk Team, supporting business wide initiatives including data protection, risk management, compliance, business continuity and insurance risk reduction.

Some travel required, primarily within the UK, however this may be extended to international travel as required.
About the Apprenticeship
Training Course: Data Protection and information governance practitioner (Level 4)
The UK Risk Team is responsible for managing risk, compliance, data protection and insurance for the UK. Working closely across all business areas in the UK along with our Group Risk colleagues in Germany we ensure that policies and processes are in place, a positive risk culture is embedded in our business, and all risks are identified, recorded and where required mitigated.
The Data Protection and information governance practitioner Apprentice programme is a 20-month learning experience designed to provide participants with the knowledge and experience needed for a successful career in Risk at apetito.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying for Data Protection and information governance practitioner Apprenticeship (Level 4).
Skills an apprentice will learn:
- Use IT systems to manage, share and store information in accordance with data protection requirements and organisation policies.
- Communicate complex subjects in simple terms through different media (such as face to face meetings, emails, reports and presentations) to enable key stakeholders to understand what is required.
- Prepare documentation and materials for review and ratification.
- Working at times under time pressure, prioritising their workloads in order to raise and resolve areas of concern such as individual rights, breach management, FOI requests and information sharing.
- Being able to accept and deal with changing priorities related to both their own work and to the organisation, showing the flexibility to maintain high standards in a changing environment.
- Undertake data collection, data analysis, data presentation and data storage such as data incidents.
- Interpret regulation and legislation, share best practice and advise stakeholders on its application.
- Identify organisation needs and how these are applied to enquiries.
- Interpret and apply sector guidance appropriately.
- Undertake investigations and interviews in order to assess a data breach.
- Gather, analyse, use and share data to inform risk assessment and make judgements on actions to take.
- Make decisions on data protection and information governance issues raised and ensure that any areas of concern are escalated to the stakeholders.
- Provide day to day support, specialist advice, guidance and training across the organisation and external stakeholders for all matters regarding information governance and data protection.
- Identify potential data solutions and evidence the way in which they could improve data management.

There is potentially an opportunity as part of the apprenticeship to take the BCS Practitioner in Data Protection certification
Salary and Progression:
Initial salary £21k start with the job title of Risk Analyst Apprentice
Salary increase to £24k after 12 months
Salary review at End Point Assessment after approximately 20 months with the job title Risk Analyst.
This role will be largely office-based for the first few months during the induction period. Option to work at home up to 2 days per week later in the role.

Responsibilities:
- Supporting Risk Management activities across the business reinforcing its importance and supporting risk mitigation activities
- Organising Risk Board and Risk Review meetings, providing agendas and minutes / actions following the meetings
- Supporting the Data Protection Officer in the day-to-day activities relating to GDPR legislation
- Gathering the relevant data from internal and external reports, as well as the interrogation of corporate systems
- Ensure robustness through providing cover for other team members
- Conducting data analysis and data validation to identify patterns and make business recommendations
- Project coordination and facilitation
- Supporting the production of Risk Management policies and processes
- Supporting Business Continuity tests
- Supporting internal and external audits
Qualifications/Personal Qualities:
Essential:
- 6 months+ experience in an administration role
- Full driving licence held or being worked towards
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong analysis skills
- A completer-finisher
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to quickly pick up new digital tools and techniques
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to maintain integrity and follow due process.
Essential for the apprenticeship course:
- GCSE or equivalent English - grade 4/C+
- GCSE or equivalent Maths - grade 4/C+
- A Level - 3 x A Levels - Grade A*-D or equivalent Level 3 qualification or equivalent office work experience
- Be eligible to work in the UK and not be in full-time education
- Must have been resident in the UK or EU for the last three years
- No prior qualification in the area of data protection and information governance
Desirable:
- Competent managing volumes of data on excel and producing tables/graphs for analysis and reports
- Self-motivated and able to own and manage workload with minimal supervision
