Description
The Social Work Assistant (Grade 6) plays a crucial role in supporting social workers and clients within the community. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in people's lives by assisting with various social work practices.The Social Work Assistant will be working closely with social workers to facilitate community services, support client needs, and deliver essential resources. In this role, you will engage with clients to help them navigate complex systems, such as healthcare, housing, and social welfare.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to case management, observe and document client progress, and help coordinate services that enhance the welfare of individuals and families. ResponsibilitiesAssist social workers in conducting assessments and developing care plans for clients.
Provide support to clients by helping them access necessary resources and services.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of client interactions and progress.
Coordinate and attend meetings with other service providers to discuss client needs.
Support clients in crisis situations by providing immediate assistance and referrals.
Participate in outreach and community events to promote available services and resources.
Assist in advocacy efforts on behalf of clients to ensure they receive appropriate services.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
Experience working in a social services setting is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with clients and team members.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly.
Basic knowledge of social service systems and community resources.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Hours Per Week: 37.00
Start Time: 09:00End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £15.43
