Job Title: Event SupervisorLocation: Stratford
Reports to: Event Manager / Operations Manager
Job Purpose:
The Event Supervisor will oversee the smooth execution of events, ensuring the safety, security, and satisfaction of all attendees and staff. This role is vital in managing crowd control, supervising event staff, and ensuring that health and safety standards are strictly followed, including compliance with Spectator Safety Level 2 qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Supervision: Manage all operational aspects of the event, including set-up, staffing, crowd control, and post-event breakdown.
- Staff Management: Supervise event staff (security, ushers, ticketing agents, etc.), ensuring they perform their duties effectively.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, including managing emergency procedures and first-aid response.
- Crowd Control: Oversee the movement of large groups, ensuring crowd safety and minimizing risks, including identifying and addressing any hazards.
- Communication: Act as the main point of contact for all event-related concerns, coordinating with vendors, contractors, and venue management.
- Risk Management: Perform risk assessments before, during, and after events to anticipate and address potential safety concerns.
- Incident Reporting: Ensure that any incidents, accidents, or safety breaches are logged, reported, and handled according to protocol.
- Customer Service: Provide assistance to event attendees, resolving any issues promptly and maintaining a high level of satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements:
- Spectator Safety Level 2 Qualification: A mandatory requirement, ensuring the candidate has the essential skills and knowledge to manage the safety of spectators during an event.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years of experience in event management or a supervisory role in a related field.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team under high-pressure circumstances.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making abilities, especially in high-stress situations.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations: Familiarity with industry standards and legal requirements related to crowd safety and event management.
- First Aid Certification: Preferably up to date, though training can be provided.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Spectator Safety Level 2 or higher.
- Event Management Certification.
- Experience working in high-capacity venues or managing large-scale events.
- Familiarity with ticketing and entry systems.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and manage outdoor events in varied weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in large crowds and in potentially loud environments.
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
