Financial Controller (Part time 3 days per week) | Bolton | £50,000 - £55,000 Full Time Equivalent | Business Services and Maintenance
We are proud to be partnering with a well-established business with over 40 years in the industry providing specialist maintenance, repair, and installation services across the UK is seeking an experienced Finance Controller. This is a hands-on role, working closely with senior leadership to ensure robust financial reporting, process improvements, and payroll management.
The Role
The Finance Controller will play a key role in ensuring strong financial processes, accurate reporting, and effective cash flow management. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the finance function and drive efficiencies.

Financial Controller Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and weekly MI and management accounts, ensuring timely reporting.
- Develop consolidated monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
- Lead cash flow forecasting and treasury processes.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP and manage the annual statutory accounts process.
- Support budgets, forecasts, and project cash flow forecasting.
- Represent financial performance in monthly board meetings.
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts and tax computations.
- Manage VAT, PAYE, and CIS returns.
- Oversee purchase, debtors, and creditors ledgers.
- Process payroll for the business.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant with strong hands-on accounting skills and a commercial mindset. This role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is confident working with stakeholders at all levels.
Financial Controller Key Skills & Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience in a B2C environment, with revenue from installs, service, and remedials.
- Strong system and Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
- Proficiency in Sage accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
- A forward-thinking problem solver with strong planning capabilities.
