Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Secondary School in Oldham

Salary: £85 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

The Role

As an LSA, you will work closely with students, supporting them in the classroom and ensuring they have the tools and confidence to succeed in their studies. You will work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, offering tailored support for students with additional learning needs, helping them to stay engaged and progress in their lessons.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing individual and small group support to students with varying learning needs
  • Assisting the classroom teacher in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Supporting students with their work and helping them develop key skills in a variety of subjects
  • Helping students build their confidence and develop strategies to overcome barriers to learning
  • Providing feedback to teachers on student progress and any areas where further support is required
Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting (though not essential)
  • A passion for supporting students with additional learning needs
  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach to working with children
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff
  • A DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
