Our Catering Team is currently going through a period of transformation, and to support this, we are now recruiting for an additional colleague to join our Management team on a permanent basis in the new role of Catering Operations Manager.
Our Catering Team are passionate about our patients experience, and developing our service to meet the needs of our patients, colleagues and service users, but also that we work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, building upon the trusts foundations and right care values.
You will play an active part in enhancing our Patients and Colleagues Experience, to ensure service delivery and data / information is managed effectively and that the service is maintained to our service level agreements.
The role will include, supporting the onboarding of new colleagues, including local induction, training, and delivery of recurrent training to colleagues, other aspects of the role include meal time assurance checks, management of a large diverse team of catering colleagues, which includes patient meal services our ward based hostess and housekeepers and our retail colleagues too.

Main duties of the job
This role is offered as AGHS Grade E and primarily will be Mon-Fri 0830-1630, however flexibility is required to support the service needs.
To facilitate an efficient and effective catering service for staff and visitors to Airedale General Hospital. This role will be responsible for all catering operations and will have direct operational responsibility for the catering teams including budgetary responsibility.The post holder will also have responsibility for policy implementation and service development.
As the professional lead on all catering matters the post holder will provide operational direction in the provision of an effective patient, staff and visitor catering function. The postholder will be responsible for the full catering strategy which will include emphasis on the quality of the catering services now and into the future, capturing and sharing of best practice and delivery of the support services that ensure the provision is of appropriate, effective, and efficient quality is achieved within the agreed budget parameters

Qualifications
Essential criteria- Educated to degree level or equivalent management experience
- Management/professional qualification or significant experience at a senior level in Catering management.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
- Food Safety Level 3 and willing to work towards level 4
- Evidence of Continual Professional Development
- Recognised management qualification
- Evidence of postgraduate
- Food study
- Further post graduate qualification in catering/facilities management or sufficient experience gained in practice to equate to this level of training
Experience
Essential criteria- significant experience of Catering management,
- Direct line management experience of large-scale multi-site operations with a diverse workforce of 30+ personnel.
- Experience of managing supervisors and or team leaders
- Experience of business planning and with well- developed report and business case writing skills. Ability to draw up action plans and ensure that deadlines are met in compliance with overall strategy
- Evidence of sound appreciation and achievement in management of financial targets and budgetary management.
- Experience of successfully managing budgets and delivering against financial targets
- Evidence of excellent innovation and achievement in management practice.
- Evidence of successful involvement in production of clear business cases
- Project management techniques
- Demonstrated success in delivering change and performance in complex environments
- Extensive experience within the NHS or health- related field.
