The Role: As a 3rd Line IT Support Engineer, you'll be the go-to guru for all things tech, solving advanced issues across servers, networking, Office 365, and cybersecurity. You’ll be the escalation point for the toughest problems, ensuring smooth operations while playing a key role in reducing the number of technical issues that reach the CTO.
Key Responsibilities:- Servers: Keep Windows Server environments running like a dream—securing uptime, boosting performance, and enhancing security.
- Networking: Mastermind network infrastructure setups, troubleshooting, and fixes (think firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, DNS—you name it!).
- Office 365: Be the go-to for migrations, troubleshooting, and advanced user management.
- Cyber Essentials: Implement top-tier cybersecurity practices, making sure everything complies with Cyber Essentials.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Manage rock-solid backup solutions and ensure disaster recovery plans are ready to roll.
- Virtualisation: Maintain smooth virtualized environments (VMware/Hyper-V) and assist with cloud solutions (Azure/AWS).
- Mentoring: Guide junior engineers and share your knowledge to reduce escalations and boost overall team performance.
- Minimum 5 years of IT support experience, with at least 2 years in a 3rd Line role in an MSP.
- Expertise in Windows Server, Office 365, and networking technologies (firewalls, switches, VPNs).
- Hands-on experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery protocols.
- Proven knowledge of Cyber Essentials and security implementations.
- Experience with (Hyper-V, VMware).
- A proactive problem-solver with sharp troubleshooting skills.
- Certifications like Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, or ITIL are a plus!
- You’ll play a key role in reducing escalations to the CTO.
- Deliver high client satisfaction with fewer recurring technical issues.
