Job overview
The Pre-operative Assessment Unit is currently looking to recruit a proactive and patient-centred Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join our team.
The successful candidate will be expected to work across site (Bournemouth Hospital & Poole Hospital). However the main site for the successful candidate will be Poole Hospital.

Experience
Essential criteria- Minimum 6 months experience in a healthcare role
- Experience working with the public
Qualifications
Essential criteria- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Completion of a competency-based workbook or equivalent relevant experience to vocational level 3
- GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent at grade C or above
Technical Skills and Competencies
Essential criteria- IT and PC competency
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including proven listening and communication skills
- Flexibility/adaptability to be able to work shifts to cover service needs
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Able to use initiative
- Perform ECG
- Perform physiological observations
- Venepuncture
Knowledge
Desirable criteria- Understanding of the role of pre-operative assessment in relation to patient care
