To work as part of the Women & Children’s Divisional Team to provide a comprehensive clerical and reception service.
Main duties of the job- The post holder will be responsible for providing comprehensive administration and clerical support to the maternity department. This includes adhering to booking and referral policies. The post holder will be required to work as part of a team with clinical staff to deliver the highest standards of administrative support possible for all patients and staff.
- To work as part of the women and children’s division to provide a comprehensive clerical service. To undertake filling, retrieval and day to day maintenance of patients’ maternity records in accordance with the unit requirements.
- Post holder must be able to maintain composure, efficiency and a positive, customer-service orientated manner during periods for peak workload with frequent interruptions, under tight deadlines.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities- Receive and respond to telephone calls from patients who wish to change/ cancel their appointment
- Receive and respond to booking requests from within the hospital and from patients
- Check clinic bookings for addons of ad-hoc appointments
- Book transport and interpreters where required and record requirements appropriately
- Attend trust meetings where required
- Any other duties that may be required from time to time in line with posts holders grade, experience and job title.
- Provide comprehensive and effective administration support assistance to the maternity administrators (in line with responsibilities outlined).
- Answer telephone and email queries.
- Book the combined screening and pass referral to relevant team.
- Arrange for patients health records to be located and prepared for those requesting them, prioritising urgent requests.
- To keep PAS updated with the tracking of medical records to ensure location is recorded at all times
