Analytics Governance Technical Analyst (VP)

A leading Banking Client is seeking to recruit a Analytics Governance Technical Analyst on an initial 10 month contract to be based in Lonmdon, 3x days per week onsite.
This role will help to is to ensure that Key Data Outputs (KDOs) within the Client (including all of our important metrics, reports, dashboards and models) comply with legal requirements, regulatory standards and best practices.
This role will need to understand Analytics Governance or End User Computing (EUC)) Reporting Governance and the standards that are relevant. They will be involved in helping to establish our Analytics Governance Framework and will play a key role in ensuring the standards that this framework sets out are adhered to.This Framework will align with our existing Data Governance Framework and extend this to the development, maintenance, distribution and change management processes associated with our KDOs. It will also set out guidance for compliance with BCBS 239 principles.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and classify our Key Data Outputs (KDOs) across all EMEA departments.
- Identify opportunities for decommissioning and deduplication of KDOs
- Create baseline assessments for Key Data Outputs (KDOs) and identify remediation activities necessary to ensure compliance with relevant Analytics Governance Framework principles
- Agree remediation activities with KDO owners and track remediation milestones.
- Perform maturity audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Enable departments to clearly identify Key Metrics and challenge existing understanding of metrics across EMEA.
- Establish and maintain a Catalogue of Key Data Outputs working with KDO Owners to capture required metadata.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including BCBS239, and industry best practices.
Skills Required:
- Experience understanding and establishing Analytics Governance or End User Computer (EUC)) Governance, for other organisations.
- Experience working with governance frameworks supporting BCBS239 principles. Experience of European Central Bank (ECB) onboarding would be a plus.
- Experience in using and configuring cataloguing tools, such as Collibra.
- Experience of working in the financial services industry and knowledge of data related regulatory requirements for financial service sector.
- A good understanding of, and experience of applying, project management principles and approaches like waterfall and agile.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills to communicate and achieve buy-in from stakeholders across EMEA.
- Proven ability to be a team player, while retaining the ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Solid understanding of data management concepts with knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise data and data related regulatory requirements, including data lineage.
