Maintenance Fitter
Location: WorcesterSalary: £30,000 - £32,700 + benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm (42.5 hours per week)
Shift Cover: Expected to cover twilight shift (3pm-11pm), morning shift (6am-3pm), and occasional night shift (10:30pm-6:30am) when required.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a fast-paced recycling facility, delivering planned and reactive maintenance to keep operations running smoothly. This role involves working with conveyor systems, bearings, and roller drums in a challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities⦁ Carry out planned and preventative maintenance, reducing downtime.
⦁ Investigate equipment failures and rectify defects efficiently.
⦁ Perform routine maintenance such as conveyor belt checks, clearing blockages, and bearing changes.
⦁ Operate power and hand tools including impact guns, grinders, drills, and socket sets.
⦁ Implement minor repairs to conveyor belts, guarding, and plant equipment.
⦁ Ensure safety devices (e.g. emergency stops, safety barriers, lights) are operational (training provided).
⦁ Contribute to a positive health and safety culture.
What Were Looking For
⦁ NVQ Level 2/3 in Maintenance, Engineering, Electrical, or similar (experience-only candidates will also be considered).⦁ Previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally in an industrial or recycling setting.
⦁ Confident using a variety of hand and power tools.
⦁ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to different machinery.
