Senior Accountant - Ormskirk

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join the Finance Accounts Team, you will be a key member and will contribute to an award-winning service provision that continues to enable the delivery of excellent financial performance within a strong controlled environment.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be both financial and management accounts activities including:
Financial Accounts – Fixed assets register, production of the University corporation Tax, VAT returns, cash forecasting and completion of external returns.
Management accounts – coordination of the annual budget, production of the monthly management accounts, accruals and prepayments and responding to accounting queries.
You will also be the authoritative point of contact for external stakeholders, as well as senior administration managers, PVCs and Directors internally in relation to their role.
You will join a supportive working environment and be able to gain a clear understanding of how your work contributes to strategic objectives of the service and of the University as a whole.

About You
As Senior Accountant you will have:
Experience working in a busy accounting environmentKnowledge of financial management procedures and controls
Experience in developing, enhancing and analysing computerised management systems
Experience of data manipulation and utilising management information
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Systems
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage own workload and work effectively under pressure to meet business needs/deadlines
Demonstrable strategic solution focused approach to problem solving
