Job Description
Glasgow Life is looking for a Project Officer (Connect Engage Retain) to join us on a 35 hour fixed term contract for a period up to 31st March 2026. As Project Officer you will be joining our in-demand Libraries and Communities Services. You will be part of a dedicated team which supports citywide Library Services.
More about our Libraries teams:As a Project Officer you’ll be joining our Glasgow Life Libraries team. Libraries provide a cultural and creative place for all ages. They offer a place to read for pleasure and purpose, and collections which support literacy development. Glasgow's Libraries also have e-lending, author talks, book groups and festivals.

The role
As Project Officer for the Connect, Engage Retain programme you’ll be an integral part of the team managing the provision and delivery of a range of interventions for families of early years children that help to mitigate the cost of living impact, support improvements in literacy and social mobility and reduce inequalities by (re)connecting families with both universal and targeted Library services and the wider Glasgow Life offer.Reporting to the Project Manager and working alongside an established team.
The candidate; If you’re interested in joining us as a Project Officer you’ll need:- Experience of supervising and delivering person centred services including those involving volunteers
- Excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic, self-motivated attitude to work
- Demonstrated commitment to self-development, highly developed organisational, motivational, and task completion skills
- Understanding of equalities and diversity
- IT skills and data collection and information management skills

Some of our roles are currently piloting hybrid working, with teams working between the office and home. Your line manager will agree these days with you. This balance enables you to continue much-needed collaborative working.
Our office at the Mitchell Library has great links to public transport and on site free staff parking.
This role working pattern Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
