Advanced Musculoskeletal Rotational Physiotherapist (Band 7)

Have you had good experience across a range of specialties at Band 6 level and now want new challenges? Are you looking to specialise within Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy? If so, come and join the Specialised Therapies team at the University of North Midlands NHS Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic therapist with strong clinical and team working skills. We are looking for candidates with a positive and resilient outlook and are able to embrace the challenges and opportunities of working in a large acute trust.

An exciting opportunity has presented itself for a permanent Advanced Physiotherapist to join our wider Musculoskeletal Therapies team. The successful candidate will be in a post which has rotations across the Royal Stoke and County Hospital sites and includes the following specialities:

  • In-patient Fractured Neck Of Femur
  • In-patient Elective
  • In-patient Trauma
  • Outpatient Trauma and Acute Physiotherapy Staff Service
  • Outpatient Gymnasium

Supervision will be provided by the Principal Therapists; continuous development is supported through appraisal, internal training and external learning and you will be supported through our In-house leadership course.

Main duties of the job
  • You will have the opportunity to work closely alongside your Advanced Occupational Therapy counterparts. This experience will give the post holder an excellent opportunity to continue to develop their leadership and management skills, as well as further building specialised clinical expertise that will enhance and broaden clinical abilities.

The University Hospital of North Midlands is located on 2 hospital sites and has strong links with Keele University through Primary Care Sciences and School of Allied Health Professionals. The post works within a 7 day shift system which includes weekends, late shift and bank holiday working.

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree/ Diploma in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with HCPC
  • Evidence of personal & professinal development
Desirable criteria
  • Working towards a higher qualification qualification relevant to speciality e.g. Master's degree

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post graduate experience (NHS) with considerable experience in speciality area
  • Experience of working as a senior physiotherapist within the speciality area
  • Experience of teaching students, staff & other proessional groups
  • Experience of undertaking out of hours working
Desirable criteria
  • Experience gained within an acute setting
  • Involvement in audit/research

Skills, ability & knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Trained clinical Educator
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of project work

Personal qualities

Essential criteria
  • Ability to travel to and work across multiple sites
