Overview:

  • In this role, we are seeking an experienced IT Technical Project Manager (15 Years ) for managing and execution of Java based Programs in a rapid agile based environment, primarily in the areas of software development and modernization. The candidate will be involved in overall Technical delivery management, customer mangement and communication working with the client Delivery head.

Responsibilities:

  • Aligned to Telecoml Domain, accountable for the end-to-end planning and implementation of our IT Solutions in a large Tribe of over 80 people
  • Help Facilitate PI Planning readiness by synthesizing program Vision, Roadmap, Backlogs and through Pre and Post PI Planning events or RPMs
  • Collaborate with Customer Leads and other businesse leads to ensure that we deliver IT solutions to our customers as planned.
  • Engages with BA's , Arhitects, and development teams to track and monitor the status of scope to ensure that all stories are ready for release as per the plan
  • Ensures that technical/functional dependencies across domains are identified and resolved/tracked so that story delivery is not put in jeopardy.
  • Ensure that Delivery Trackers/ Tools are kept up to date to provide an accurate reflection of current state of IT Solutions.
  • Manage and coordinate deployment of IT solutions in test & Production instances fully e2e tested code into production, post release stability and maintenance releases.
  • Participate in Deployment Weekend activities leading Post Deployment Testing calls.
  • Ensuring resolution of issues raised during stabilisation period (4 weeks post deployment of core Release, 1 week post deployment of Maintenance Release)
  • Day to day management of one or more direct reports, as well effective management of virtual teams, partners, and vendors..
  • Help champion and drive way of working to improve quality, efficiency, and consistency
  • Ability to be highly organized, very responsive, and committed to quality and high standards
  • Decide on team resource and allocation (e.g. shift patterns, leave, recruitment decisions of who joins the team etc.).
  • Make decisions at a technical delivery level by managing/determining escalation process for project milestones
  • Provide options on recovery of the technical delivery as well as other options including re-planning/rescheduling.
  • Make decision on the affordability of technical delivery costs and where appropriate challenge the costs/solution
  • Build and communicate annual release Calendar in coordination with Release Manager and other businesses within Openreach IT
  • Develop plans for specific work activities in own area over the short-term, which may include forecasting resource requirements.

Requirements:

  • Transformation: Able to manage long term changes and adapting the unit in line with the business. Be able to transform delivery to improve and reduce cost and be confident in managing changes to major products or releases.
  • Problem Solving: Must be able to proactively solve business problems that deal with uncertainty e.g. demand profile planning including location, skill and resource. Also some problems will be multi-platform wide, impacting multiple services or cross-portfolio solutions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Able to establish and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships and facilitates mutually beneficial negotiations to develop solutions, ensuring they meet current and emerging business and technical needs.
  • Agility: Leads collaborative and agile ways of working through projects and programmes effectively managing changing priorities.
  • Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
  • Minimum of 13 to 15 years experience in Software delivery management
