Location: Milton Keynes
Age Range: 12-18 years (Boys and Girls)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join the dedicated team at a vibrant SEN provision in Milton Keynes. The unit provides a supportive and inclusive environment for young people aged 12 to 18 with a range of special educational needs, empowering them to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

About the Role

As SENDCo, you will be a key member of the leadership team, driving high-quality provision for students. You will:

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) to support diverse learning needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for our students.
  • Provide training and support to staff to ensure effective differentiation and inclusion strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and the overall SEND provision.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced SENDCo who shares our commitment to inclusive education. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Proven experience working with children and young people with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting students with additional needs.
