We are seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) to join the dedicated team at a vibrant SEN provision in Milton Keynes. The unit provides a supportive and inclusive environment for young people aged 12 to 18 with a range of special educational needs, empowering them to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
About the Role
As SENDCo, you will be a key member of the leadership team, driving high-quality provision for students. You will:
- Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) to support diverse learning needs.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for our students.
- Provide training and support to staff to ensure effective differentiation and inclusion strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and the overall SEND provision.
About You
We are looking for a passionate and experienced SENDCo who shares our commitment to inclusive education. The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to work towards it).
- Proven experience working with children and young people with SEND.
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting students with additional needs.
- A dynamic and supportive working environment.
