Person specification

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant conditions and their therapeutic applications
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Understanding the Dynamics of a group
  • Computer skills
  • Supervisory skills
  • effective prioritisation skills

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level III in Care “Diagnostic and Therapeutic Support” award (or equivalent qualification) and substantial experience as a therapy assistant

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • Counselling skills
  • Teaching in a group setting
  • Hydrotherapy course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience as a therapy assistant
  • Evidence of CPD/IST

Contractual

Essential criteria
  • Able to work flexibly including weekends
  • Ability to travel between hospital sites
