We are seeking to recruit a dynamic Occupational Therapist with proven clinical skills, knowledge and experience to join the CAMHS Intellectual Disabilities Team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and motivated person to support the young people and their families in our service as well as be a part of a well established multidisciplinary team.

Develop and provide a high-quality Occupational Therapy service within the CAMHS ID Team. Working collaboratively with children & young people, their families/ carers and their networks which can include stakeholders such as Education, local authority, Children’s Social Care, CAMHS Colleagues & commissioners to promote a whole team approach to ensure young people reach their full potential in life.

Ensure effective assessment and support of young people with Intellectual Disabilities & other co-morbidities with varying difficulties to promote participation and skills development in all spheres of daily living - education, self-care, home, and play etc.

You will have an interest in sensory processing and sensory integration difficulties and their impact on participation, with a view to offering sensory assessment and intervention and be sensory integration practitioner trained or willing to participate in sensory integration and/or sensory attachment training to support the team and networks to understand how best to support young people and adapt the environment accordingly.

To produce concise, informative verbal and written reports, programmes, and records as necessary.

The post holder will work within an intergraded service within the Trust and Nottingham City & County providing high quality assessment, consultation, and intervention within CAMHS ID. The post holder will have the opportunity to link with other OTs within the trust and be supported to gain experience and knowledge through training if this is required to ensure they are skilled to support such a complex network.

The post holder will report to the Team Lead and work within the Trust’s policies and procedures.
