Senior Financial Accountant/Company Financial Controller

Role Description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant/Company Financial Controller to oversee and manage financial operations for one of our group companies. This position is based in London, UK. The ideal candidate will drive process improvement, ensure financial controls, and provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making and business growth.

This role is open to candidates who require visa sponsorship and offers an opportunity to grow within a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all revenue, expenses, and financial transactions to ensure accurate accounting.
  • Supervise and manage company bank accounts and payments processing.
  • Prepare, submit, and report client invoices in a timely manner.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconcile accounts.
  • Oversee monthly payroll, employee expenses, and advances.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns by timely submission and payment.
  • Prepare and post accounting journals, managing month-end closing processes.
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting and reporting processes.
  • Complete monthly management accounts, providing insightful commentary on movements against budget.
  • Support the budgeting process and assist with ad-hoc projects.
  • Lead audits, preparing necessary documentation, and collaborating with auditors for timely completion.
To be successful in this role you must have:
  • Finance degree (essential), CA or equivalent qualification (preferred).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in financial management or accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
  • Solid experience with Xero software.
  • Experience working with large data sets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working remotely and in a globally dispersed team
  • Pan-African experience

Compensation
  • An annual salary of £45,000 - £50,000
  • Discretionary annual bonus
