Staff Nurse - Neuro Rehabilitation

Job overview

The post holder is responsible for the assessment of patient care needs and development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients.

As a nurse you will assist in the management and organisation of work as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times, providing support for junior staff. You will play a key role in the supervision and assessment of all learners and unregistered staff, providing a teaching role and acting as a named supervisor.

Main duties of the job

Using your clinical experience and skills you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients on the ward / unit.

You will assist in the management and organisation of work, as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times and will provide support for junior staff on the ward (newly qualified staff will receive initial support).

You will undertake nursing interventions consistent with evidence based practice, transferring and applying knowledge and skills to meet patients’ needs.

To utilise highly developed clinical skills specific to speciality.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely. Qualifications

• Registered on the NMC register

• Good communication skills

Knowledge of Neuro Rehabilitation

• Demonstrate a knowledge of what Neuro rehabilitation is

• Experience of working in a rehabilitation setting

Interest

• Demonstrate an interest in the speciality

• Experience of dealing with cognitively impaired patients
