Field Compliance Supervisor

Telent are now looking for a Field Compliance Supervisor to join the Network Services Infrastructure team. This opportunity as Field Compliance Supervisor will see you working on the mission-critical Fibre Build Programme, with a particular focus of works across the Midlands and Southern regions – Coventry, Leicester, Warwick, Kenilworth, Solihull, Springfield and the London / South East region.

You must be a holder of a full UK driving license and able to travel in a “Field based” format. The Field Compliance Supervisor may be needed at the Warwick office (CV34 5AH) at least 1 day per month to contribute to leadership meetings and programme updates.

Our Field teams are critical in the delivery of our contracts, whether that is delivering, or supervising maintenance, installation, cabling, or civils works.

The Field Compliance Supervisor will be responsible for the Fibre Build contract deliverables (in their designated area) ensuring these are delivered as planned by Telent and its partners / suppliers. This includes confirmations of resources on site, dealing with any in-life, real-time issues and flagging any requirements for “jeopardy management”.

You will see all programmed works on-site through to completion, meeting set KPI’s and SLA’s.

As the Field Compliance Supervisor, you will support fibre gangs employed by Telent’s suppliers locally to ensure all safety, compliance and quality standards are being met through, a defined audit and inspection regime as set out by the Infrastructure Services business.

You will be Telent’s customer ambassador in the field assisting all contract deliveries by enabling the programming of all works in the Telent workstack through the resolution of access and fluidity issues.

Field Compliance Supervisor - What you’ll do:

  • Support the delivery of the Project Plan by working with Cluster Leads and Project Managers, ensuring cost-effective solutions and project fluidity.
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures, evaluating existing programs and making necessary improvements.
  • Ensure suppliers have the agreed gangs on-site daily and all programmed work is attended to.
  • Prioritize safety by ensuring all activities follow safe working practices and are supported by the correct documentation.
  • Monitor suppliers to maintain a ‘right first time’ quality culture, ensuring compliance with Openreach installation standards.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers and local Highways Authorities, ensuring high levels of street works compliance and reinstatement quality.
  • Resolve local access issues with the public and businesses, managing wayleave and permission to dig processes.
  • Attend Joint Site Meetings with asset owners and suppliers to unlock work fluidity.
  • Respond promptly to urgent safety issues, supporting the resolution of defects within required timeframes.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and ensure adherence to internal and external regulations.
  • Oversee site setups, confirming safety standards and granting 'permission to proceed' where appropriate.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of operatives, ensuring all vehicles and materials meet safety and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve escalated issues and manage temporary works in line with Telent's processes.

Field Compliance Supervisor - Who you are:

You are a skilled Field Compliance Supervisor with experience overseeing civils, poling, or cable gangs in the highways network or telecoms. You’re confident in managing field operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Your strong problem-solving skills help you resolve access issues and ensure smooth project delivery. With key certifications like NRSWA Supervisor Level and SA001A, you’re ready to contribute to the success of Telent’s Fibre Build Programme in the Midlands.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working with suppliers, local authorities, and the project team to meet delivery goals.

Field Compliance Supervisor - Key requirements:

  • Experience of supervising civils, poling or cable gangs working in the highways network or having held a position of ‘site supervisor’ or similar in the construction or telecoms industry
  • SA001A accreditation for overhead safety
  • Basic cabling/rod and rope knowledge / skills
  • NRSWA Supervisor Level certified
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Possess an understanding of environmental legislation and compliance
  • Experience with conducting surveys / assessments or similar
  • IOSH Managing Safely (will be required to train in this in first 3 months)
  • SA001 & SA002 accreditation
