Compliance Coordinator

Location – Stratford
Hours - Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:00.
While this is advertised externally as an Account Manager internally this role transitions to a Compliance Manager.
A quick look at the role.
This is a varied administrative role supporting Biffa’s Packaging and WEEE compliance schemes. The role involves managing member registrations, data checks, invoicing, WEEE collections, and compliance monitoring. You'll work closely with compliance managers, scheme members, and suppliers to ensure accurate records, timely submissions, and adherence to regulatory processes, while also providing first-line support and upholding Biffa’s compliance standards and values.
Your core responsibilities.- Act as the first point of contact for member queries, including setting up new members, verifying company details, managing inboxes, and ensuring timely communication and follow-ups
- Administer member registration, ensuring all documents are received, changes are communicated, and accurate records are maintained
- Collate and check quarterly and annual data returns for packaging, WEEE, and EEE, ensuring accuracy and chasing outstanding data as needed
- Liaise with DCFs, AATFs, and Biffa sites to collect and verify data, escalating issues to the WEEE Compliance or Compliance Operations Manager where appropriate
- Support data analysis by collecting packaging data for plastic reporting and monitoring EEE obligations in line with Environment Agency requirements
- Provide administrative support to finance, including goods receipting, resolving supplier queries, and preparing invoice templates
- Manage debt reporting, monitor bad debt monthly, and reconcile invoicing against membership requirements
- Coordinate WEEE and battery collections, generate quotes, arrange payments, and reconcile evidence with collected materials
Requirements
Our essential requirements.- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
- Confident communicator with experience as a first point of contact for customers and suppliers
- Proficient in Excel (including VLOOKUPs, IF statements) and comfortable working with large data sets
- Skilled in using MS Office applications, including Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experienced with financial and purchasing systems, and in preparing and sending customer communications
- High level of numeracy and literacy, with knowledge of Producer Responsibility Regulations (preferred)
