An exciting opportunity to build and manage an Import division within an established and reputable Logistics company who are paying a competitive salary dependant on experience at £60k+ with performance-based incentives based in Portsmouth.
We are looking for a strategic and results-driven professional to establish and lead our clients Import Freight Division with a core focus on Deep Sea, Ocean and International operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the direction of a new business unit within an established company, leveraging existing client relationships and market expertise to drive growth in Deep Sea & International markets.
Import Operations Manager Job Overview- Develop & Implement Strategy: Define the vision, objectives, and roadmap for the Freight Division, aligning with the company's overall goals.
- Business Development: Identify and secure new clients, partnerships, and revenue streams within the freight and logistics industry.
- Operational Setup: Establish processes, compliance measures, and infrastructure for efficient freight operations, including domestic and international shipping.
- Financial Management: Set budgets, control costs, and drive profitability while ensuring competitive pricing models.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to UK and international transport regulations.
- Technology & Innovation: Implement modern logistics technologies and tracking systems to optimise efficiency.
- Proven experience in setting up freight, logistics, or supply chains in deep sea and international freight markets.
- Strong industry network with the ability to establish strategic partnerships.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of successfully launching or scaling a business unit.
- Knowledge of UK and international freight regulations and customs procedures.
- Exceptional negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior management.
- Experience within FMCG or Food & Beverage markets is desirable
- Competitive salary circa £40-60k+ with performance-based incentives.
- Monday - Friday role (office hours)
