The Role: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be primarily based within the Maths department, working closely with small groups of students to help them improve their understanding and progress in the subject. Additionally, you will conduct one-to-one sessions with target pupils, focusing on enhancing their engagement with the curriculum and helping them meet or exceed their target grades.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of lessons under the guidance of teachers.
  • Providing targeted support to small groups and individual students to enhance their Maths skills.
  • Tracking and monitoring student progress, adjusting support strategies as needed to ensure they are on track to meet their goals.
  • Collaborating with teachers and the wider learning support team to deliver a cohesive support plan for each pupil.
  • Participating in regular professional development sessions to enhance your skills and take advantage of progression opportunities within the school.

Essential Criteria:

  • A relevant degree or qualification, ideally within Maths or a related subject.
  • Proven ability to track and improve student performance.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting or experience with transferable skills such as tutoring, mentoring, or coaching.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK (valid visa required).
  • A passion for education and a commitment to helping students reach their potential.
