Founded in 1646, Reading Blue Coat is a leading independent day school of circa 800 pupils from ages 11 to 18. The School is located on a beautiful 46-acre campus in the village of Sonning, just outside Reading.

An enthusiastic, inspiring Chemistry teacher with outstanding subject knowledge is required to join this excellent, very well-resourced department from April or September 2025. You will teach at all stages of the School including the Edexcel Chemistry course at A Level.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding specialist subject knowledge, as well as experience of teaching Chemistry to years 7 to 13. Applicants should have a passion for their subject and a desire to inspire students and prepare them for exams.

It is likely that you will hold a degree in

Chemistry or a strongly related discipline. Applications are welcome from NQTs and those completing their PGCE qualification.

You will contribute to the co-curricular offerings of the departments and the wider life of the School, to which your energy, warmth and pastoral instincts will lend themselves.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday during term-time.
