We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join our District Nursing Team based at Greenhill Health Centre in Lichfield. The Service offers nursing interventions to adults living in the Lichfield and Burntwood areas with their own homes.

The post holder will be working as part of a team of other Administrative Assistants who are based in Tamworth. The post holder will be expected to be able to use their own initiative and judgement, although they will be well supported by other admin staff and through the clinical and professional networks accessible through the community teams.

Main duties of the job

Our Administrative Assistants are an integral part of our Admin Team. The role is busy, challenging and rewarding. We are currently looking for a Administrative Assistant working 30 hours per week, supporting the District Nursing Teams covering Lichfield and Burntwood, there is also some time spent supporting the Ambulatory Clinic staff.

What will the role entail?
  • Utilise the patient administration system (RiO) on a daily basis keeping accurate records.
  • Carry out administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning, uploading documents, typing.
  • Use a variety of electronic systems (MS Office, RiO, E-Proc).
  • Support the team in carrying out admin work requests.
  • Confidently handling queries of a challenging/sensitive nature.
  • Concise & accurate message taking.
  • Maintaining stock levels of essential equipment, including dressings and ensuring storage areas are clean and tidy
  • Supporting Operational Lead/Manager in obtaining data for reports

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration (or equivalent level of administrative experience)
Desirable criteria
  • Minimum 1 year admin experience

  • Relevant experience of working in an office environment
  • Relevant experience of undertaking office procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent typing skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computer packages, including Microsoft Office

  • Previous experience of working within the NHS
