Your new school:

The staff at this Bristol primary school are in search of an experienced, hard-working Teaching Assistant, or an individual with similar, transferable skills, to join their SEND department as soon as possible, until the end of the academic year.
You will work under the guidance of an experienced SENCo to provide a duty of care for a group of children with additional needs. This BS3 school is highly regarded and recommended by parents and staff alike. It is also located along a public bus route whilst having a car park on site.

This is a full-time, long-term position for anyone with SEND experience.

Your new role:

This new role within this BS3 school will require you to be flexible and versatile as you will be working within this school’s SEND resource base, alongside other specialised Teaching Assistants, methods such as visual aids, brain breaks and rehearsal of material.

This role includes working with up to 6 children with severe needs and 3 other Teaching Assistants, completing a revised version of the work for their respective classes. This role also requires you to organise activities and look after the child’s wellbeing as well as their learning development.

Requirements to succeed in your new role:

  • Teaching Assistant experience within the last two years (or similar relevant experience.g. support worker)
  • A passion for working with young children and assisting with their development and engagement in learning
  • Previous experience with young children with SEND requirements.
  • A DBS on the update service, this can be done by us here at Hays!
