Your new school:

This local Bristol school is looking for a motivated individual to join their vibrant and inclusive school community. This BS1 school’s staff have amazing morals and strive to help and support children every day. They are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a student with additional needs.

This position is a full-time long-term Teaching Assistant role until the end of the academic year.

Your new role:

Your new Teaching Assistant role will be to provide tailored one-to-one support to an individual in Year 1 with Global Delay, working at a lower level than the rest of their class; ensuring their individual's learning needs are met, assisting the class teacher in the creation and delivery of implementing personalised learning plans and supporting this student in developing social skills and building confidence.

You will be monitoring and recording the students’ progress by yourself and working with an extensive SEND team to ensure these students' well-being and positive behaviour.

Requirements to succeed in your new role:

  • Relative Teaching assistant experience within the last two years (or transferrable experience)
  • Two working references from your two most recent jobs that apply some relevance
  • Previous experience with SEN is needed
  • Previous experience with KS1children
