An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic and self-motivated professional to join our aseptic team at University Hospitals Dorset .
You will be part of a team consisting of Pharmacists, Technicians and Assistants, who are always striving for excellence in all aspects of our work. We are working collaboratively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team to ensure we always deliver outstanding care to our patients.
This is an exciting time to join the Hospital Aseptic Department. Our service is built around providing a high-quality service to our patients and staff of the Trust.
You will be required to work on the earlies/lates, weekends and bank holiday on a rotational formate. You will also be required to work flexibly.

Main duties of the job
The Job Description outlines the roles of the Senior Aseptic Services Technician. You will work closely with and support the Lead and Deputy Lead Technician in the day to day running of the Technical Services aseptic suite, providing a quality, GMP compliant service, supplying aseptically prepared medicines including clinical trials, in a timely manner to all service users.You will act as a supervisor under the direction of the Deputy Lead Technician in the aseptic suite or its support areas and to line manage and act as a role model for junior members of staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities- Support the maintenance and development of the highest standards of patient-focused care in the provision of aseptic services to all patients at UHD.
- Participate in the education and training of pharmacists, technicians & assistants in aseptic services
- Line manage and appraise junior members of the team and support the training and development of Pharmacy Technicians, Aseptic Services Technicians and Assistants working within the aseptic unit
- Support the effective use of resources, including medicines, within the aseptic unit to minimise wastage.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science and BTEC in Pharmacy Services
- Registration to The General Pharmaceutical Council
- Pre and In Process Checking
- Accredited Checking Technician ACT/PAAP
- TSET
- Internal aseptic training
Experience
Essential criteria- Worked in pharmacy & aseptics
- Extensive knowledge of aseptics
- Basic management experience
- Good knowledge of hospital cancer service
- Good experience in delivering education and training to a variety of staff
- Good experience of undertaking change with in a pharmacy team
- Experience of delivering cancer services
Technical Skills Competencies
Essential criteria- Neat, accurate, numerate
- Basic I.T. skills
- Experience using electronic prescribing
- Knowledge of WellSky/Clinichemo/Mosaiq software
- Familiar with using Quality Management Systems (Qpulse)
