My client is recruiting for an experianced Business Development manager who has a software Edtech sales background,The Business Development Manager will sell their award-winning education software product suite to senior leaders within Primary Schools, Secondary Schools and Multi-Academy Trusts.

Most of the role will be focused on closing new business and whilst there’s an element of self-generation, they have a strong marketing team and SDR in place to help set appointments.

The Role
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends in the further education and technology sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Identify and target new business opportunities within the further education sector, particularly focusing on technology-related solutions.
  • Work closely with the regional sales teams to align sales strategies and tactics, ensuring consistent messaging and approach.
  • Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients.
  • Actively participate in networking events, industry conferences, and other relevant forums to promote the company's offerings and generate leads.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on sales activities, pipeline, and performance metrics to the External Client Services Director and senior leadership.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, competitor activities, and best practices to continually refine sales strategies and tactics.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all interactions and transactions.
  • Continuously strive to meet and exceed sales targets and objectives set by the company.
Essential Skills.
  • Up 5 years proven track record in selling Edtech software or related software to schools.
  • Proven track record identifying qualified leads
  • Comfortable dealing with senior managers and directors
  • Well-presented
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize and perform in an environment of multiple changing priorities
  • The ability to build generate new business through networking opportunities
  • Capable to maximise revenue and grow margin from both new and existing clients
  • To operate with strong commercial awareness and ensure quality business is generated and retained
  • Strong ability to present the strengths and capabilities of the business
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and communications skills
