Person specification
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Essential criteria- High level of clinical skills and theoretical knowledge within the paediatric musculoskeletal speciality and applied physiotherapy techniques
- Familiarity with evidence-based research that underpins paediatric orthopaedic care
- Ability to teach in a group setting / knowledge and understanding of group dynamics / ability to pass on knowledge to others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide and receive complex and/or sensitive information
- Competent IT skills
- Supervisory and leadership skills
- Strong Leadership skills
- Awareness of local, regional and national healthcare priorities
Qualifications - Academic/Craft/Professional
Essential criteria- Degree and/or Post Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy
- HPC State Registration
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Membership of a professional special interest group relevant to paediatrics
- Undertaken the clinical student supervisor’s course
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Further Training
Essential criteria- Leadership training
- Evidence of continual professional development (CPD) and attendance at postgraduatelevel course
Experience
Essential criteria- Extensive experience working in MSK out patients and paediatric MSK.
- Experience of clinical supervision of physiotherapy students and junior staff
- Experience of teaching within the speciality
- Experience of implementing new ways of working within a team
- Evidence of contributing to clinical audit
- Evidence of specialist post graduate courses in manual therapy taught at masters level
Contractual Requirements
Essential criteria- To travel between hospital sites and GP practices
- Must be able to work flexible hours over a 7-day period
