Person specification
Knowledge
Essential criteria- A broad understanding of the current local and national issues impacting on the Trust and service provision
- A substantial, broad clinical knowledge in the secondary care environment, and skilled in applying therapy frameworks
- Modernisation Agenda for the NHS re new ways of working
- Excellent leadership and communication knowledge and skills
- Computer literate with skill in using databases/spreadsheets and Powerpoint
- An understanding of Health and Social Care Policy
Qualifications
Essential criteria- BSc/diploma in occupational therapy or physiotherapy
- Registered with the HPC
- Practice placement educator / APPLE accredited
Further Training
Essential criteria- Specialty specific clinical and management short courses
- Leadership training
- Supervision skills course
- ECDL or part ECDL
- NVQ assessor
Experience
Essential criteria- Substantial post graduate clinical experience, most recently working as a senior therapist which includes leadership and supervisory experience
- Can lead change and is able to demonstrate implementation of new ways of working within the team.
- Proven experience of being an appraisor and supervisor of clinical staff
- Recruitment and selection of staff
Contractual
Essential criteria- Flexible hours of working / weekend working when required
- Ability to travel between all hospital sites (line relating to participating in therapy managers rota has been removed)
- Car driver
